Yesterday's Statistics
v3.0
(c) 1994 Clint Stamets

WARNING!!!
This program has been working fine for me and has caused no problems.
Still, there are no guarantees or warranties of any kind. Use this program
at your own risk.
What it does...
This program makes ASCII, ANSI and AVATAR bulletins of various statistics
of the previous day. It reads the information from the log file. The only
thing it keeps track of that isn't already provided by the log is the
number of times the voting both has been entered. For this to work
properly you need to add a blind command that writes a line of text to the
sysop log. If the voting booth is enetered from your main menu insert a
command before the voting booth with blank strings for the descriptions.
Use the same command key and ACS as your voting booth. Use -S for the
command letters and under put "Voting booth entered" (without the quotes
and with no color codes).It works with logs containing color codes but is
faster with logs without color.
Syntax is:
yestat <log file> <output file> <colored logs?> <text color for ASCII>
<background color for ASCII>
i.e. yestat c:\rg\logs\sysop1.log yestat Y 01 19
log file - the path and filename of the log to use
output file - the name of the file to make, path optional
Yestat makes 3 files using your specified output filename.
DO NOT specify an extension. Yestat will add the .ANS, .ASC
or .AVT extension for the proper files.
colored logs? - if you are using color in your logs you need a "Y" here
so the program wil handle the codes. If you're not using colored logs
put an "N" here.
colors - You can select a color for the text and a color for the
background of the ASCII bulletin. Use Renegade pipe code
numbers.
|00 to |15 specify foreground colors (for the text)
|16 to |23 specify background colors.
There are no defaults.
You will have to create two files. ASCII.HDR and ASCII.FTR. The header
(.HDR) files and footer (.FTR) files are added to the top and bottom
(respectively) of the output file. You have a total of eight lines
combined available for the header and footer files. You can split them
any way you choose (4 lines each, 5 lines for header and 3 lines for
footer, 6 lines header and 2 lines footer,1 line header and 7 lines
footer... whatever). I wass going to include sample files but I figure
everbody would just change them anyway. You can use Renegade MCI
commands, color codes or whatever in the header and footer files. These
files must be placed in the same directory Yestat is run from.
ANSI and AVATAR
YESTAT uses ANSI and AVATAR template files to create the ANSI and
AVATAR bulletins. Two samples have been provided. Sorry I'm not much
of an ANSI artist. If anyone wants to provide better default templates
I'd be happy to use them. The files need to be namedYSTMP*.ANS and
YSTMP*.AVT, replacing the * with any legal DOS filename character. I
haven't bothered to figure out the exact number of possible templates
this naming convention allows but it should be more than enough for
anyone. Draw your ANSIs in normal mode, leaving blanks wher eyou want
the information filled in. Then switch to animation ode and go back and
put th efollowing codes in their appropriate places. You do not have to
use all the information YESTAT will provide and you may use Renegade MCI
codes if you wish. The codes are as follows:
@TM - Total Minutes
@NU - New Users
@PP - Public Posts
@PM - Private Mail
@UN - Number of Uploads
@UK - Kilobytes Uploaded
@DN - Number of Downloads
@DK - Kilobytes Dowbloaded
@QD - QWK Downloads
@RU - REP Uploads
@PA - Percent of Activity
@NC - Number of Callers
@DO - Doors Opened
@DC - Dropped Carriers
@TE - TimeBank Entries
@MD - Minutes Deposited
@MW - Minutes Withdrawn
@VE - Voting Booth Entries
@VT - New Voting Topics
@VC - New Voting Choices
History
I originally wrote this just because I'm lazy and didn't want to go
through the sysop logs and add everything up myself. This gives me a
decent overview of system activity at a glance. I added it to the System
Bulletins and have it displayed at log on. When I noticed that users
actually look at the bulletin I decided to make it look a little better
(added the header and footer and a couple other little changes) and
see if anyone else would have any use for it. With version 3.0 I hope
it's finally good enough to satisfy other SysOps.
Registration
It's free. But hey, if you feel like sending me a dollar or twelve I'm
not too proud to turn it down. I need the money. :)
I would like to hear from anyone using this program. I can be reached

This is the "support board" for Centrifuge Software... the stupid little
name I've started collecting my stupid little programs under. :) You can
leave a message to the SysOp here... it's me.

NOTE: DO NOT leave a message to the SysOp of the above 3 boards if you
expect me to get it.
Thanks for taking the time to look at this program. Comments or
suggestions are welcome.
